Horse racing match ups are simple: pick one horse, and if your selection finishes in front of the other horse, you win. Your selected horse or horses do not have to win the race, but most only out finish the other horse or horses.

A minus sign in front of the money line indicates the favorite, a plus sign indicates the underdog. You would lay $160 to win $100 on the favored Afleet Alex, or you would wager $100 to win $140 on Giacomo, the underdog.
